I am going to take it as a given that if you are reading this you think that schools ministry is a good idea, you are either doing it already and just looking for some hints and tips or you are thinking it is something you should be doing.  I have being doing assemblies in schools......
It has been over a month since my last blog post . . . (which was also, about silence and having nothing to say . . . !) OK, no longer.  I was – against my better judgement as I don’t really believe in awards – going to nominate something in the “best resource” category......
So, sometimes I have nothing to say. That doesn’t mean I shouldn’t blog about it! I am sat in the garden, it is a peaceful, still (but for the wind whispering through the trees) ‘moment’ – I am vaguely aware of children in the background somewhere – talking to each other out in the street.......
I am a fan of Tim Harford.   He does “More or Less” on Radio 4 . . . which is a little bit of brilliance.  He also hosts a show called “pop up ideas” it is just superb – lobbing out there a bunch of “what if” thoughts and ideas.  As I was driving......
Neil Gaiman writes odd stuff.  Dark odd stuff for adults, weird and crazy laugh-out-loud-funny odd stuff for kids.  “Fortunately, The Milk” came out in mid September 2013 . . . if you missed it, get it NOW! A (apparently) hapless dad is left alone with the kids while his other half heads off for a conference......
I am trying to write almost every day – not just on the blog, but just get thoughts and ideas DOWN.  So, here is my first experiment of trying to get a blog written in about 5 minutes! Had a session last night with our finishing “Gap Year” students, on “The Future of The Church”......
I have just mussed about this in my office with one of my team, admittedly this was one of those “off the top of my head I think . . . ” kind of conversations.  Despite that (or maybe because of it!) I am going to write down here what I just spouted . .......
Argh! How do we manage our anger?  I used the basis of the below for an assembly a while ago and then have subsequently used it all over the place in a variety of contexts with young people.   Use it however you like if you find it useful, pass it on – no credit......
